castellu of cucuruzzu and capula

cucuruzzu
Cucuruzzu is a castellu torréen dating from the age of bronze. Built in
a rock chaos, the fortifications are made blocks of stone of which some
make more than one ton. One reaches the site while passing by a granite
ball burst. At the interior of the enclosure cabins for the artisanal
activities and of the diverticula for the storage of the food products
are. On the highest rock is a circular monument of form, will torra it,
partly still covered.
The site is classified with the historic building and the world inheritance by UNESCO.
Capula
Built on a basis of large rocks, on which a wall of small paving
stone is superimposed, the castellu of capula is a medieval monument to
a few hundred meters of cucuruzzu. With the foot of the building is a
menhir armed who reception the visitors.
A little further is the ruins of a vault of XIIe century, like that a
small vault. Surrounded by taffoni and rock shelters inhabited at the
time of prehistory, it is in one hour of walk of the thousands of year
of history which ravel under our eyes
To go there
from GSartène or Propiano , you have to take the direction of Lévie by D268. Approximately 5km after holy Lucie de Talano, turn left, direction cucuruzzu.
